As i just stated at blueboden.com, i toke the time to update the site today, since i'm waiting for the status of my Sony Vegas Pro 8, which i Ordered from sony a few days ago.
The reason i'm buying Pro, is that i'm doing some video editing for Full Gospel Production Ministries.
There are several limitations in the other versions, one of which i consider to be basic functionality is unlimited tracks, which should be included in all versions. See the Vegas Family Comparison. The functions i'm paticuler interested in right now, is: scripting, 5.1 Surround Mixing, 24-Bit/192 kHz Audio Support, Multicamera editing.
Lets be clear about something, Platinum will be more then enough for most of you. The main reason i'm buying Pro, is that i disslike limitations, and i'm often working with 2-3 cameras, the task of editing 1hour footage is huge.
Perhaps one of the best function in the Pro version, along with the audio features. I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to audio, but i certainly could see myself editing Surround sound some day. Anyway i hope that this function, will lift some of the weight from the editing process.
Once you have figured out, that you can't automaticly place transactions between all your edits, you may turn to Scripting. Ofcause i could just use AutoIt for this, maybe not as efficiently as the build in scripting however.
While i do expect to play with the Surround Sound features later, they are of no use to me now, but they still add in the weight twords the Pro version.
I havn't been able to locate much more information about the features included in Pro. Last the pro version comes with DVD Architect 4.5, i've really missed an application to make DVDs with, including menus and titles.
Enough about vegas, this should be about webdesign, and webdesign it is. The new layout of blueboden.com is based on one of my position based layouts, which can be found Here.
I would also like to use the opportunity to say, that it should be possible to upgrade above technique, so that opera works as well. I actualley started out trying to solve the problem, when i had the idea to update blueboden.com instead. I can say as much, as the problem might have something to do with opera getting min-height wrong.
I was to happy about the original layout to ditch it intirely, so instead i made some semi-fixed width containers at the left side, this should be enough to cover my needs anyway. Besides i didn't like the orginal 3-column's, the Technique was more a experiment.
The new layout should work in most recent browser version, including: IE7, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. At the moment i'm not sure about opera, since i only got the beta installed, this was to see if the beta was more happy about the original layout.
Blueboden is going to be my blog, this way i avoid mixing things up with articles on Brugbart, this is also an attempt to ensure the quality and relevancy of the articles on Brugbart.
